Vega Mailbox
is a European design that features clean lines combined with a modern
look. Crafted in stainless steel, mailboxes can be wall mounted or
combined with a stand (sold separately) for a freestanding application.
All units feature an Abloy® high quality security lock with two keys.
When the lock is opened, the front door of the mailbox swings down for
easy access to your mail. Material and Finish
All
mailboxes are Belgium stainless steel with a satin brushed finish.
Stainless steel is a generic term for a family of low carbon alloy
steels containing 10.5% or more chromium. The corrosion resistance and
other useful properties of steel are enhanced by increased chromium
content and the addition of other elements such as molybdenum, nickel
and nitrogen. Due to its specific chemical composition, stainless steel
has a self-healing property as a very thin layer naturally forms on the
surface. This layer, with the assistance of oxygen from air or water,
rebuilds itself when scratched. Use of 2mm AISI 316 marine grade
stainless steel provides a finish that resists rust while enduring all
weather types and remains crisp and “new looking” for many years.
 Optional Stand
For use with Galaxy contemporary mailboxes, the stainless steel stand
is manufactured using the same 2mm marine grade stainless steel used in
production of the mailboxes. The convenient height of 67” allows for
placement of the stainless steel stand at the height specified by the
U.S.P.S. while the width of 12 1/2" provides ample room for the mailbox to fit on the stand securely.
